The “WATER SUM Final Event” will take place on May 18, 2017, in Amman, Jordan. The event will bring to a close the REC project “Sustainable Use of Transboundary Water Resources and Water Security Management in the MENA region” (WaterSUM), which is supported by the Government of Sweden through the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida).

The main objective is to present WATER SUM project achievements concerning integrated water resources management (IWRM), including dialogue and cooperation and adaptation to climate change, as well as water security issues that the project has tackled. In addition, it will offer a platform for classifying future needs and perspectives for further enhancement of implementation capabilities at national and regional level.

“WATER SUM Final Event” participants will learn about the results of this innovative, three‑year project that has involved a broad range of regional and international participation. The event will also promote network with other EU projects on water management. In parallel, the best work from the project’s “Drawing Competition” will be exhibited in the conference hall, and prizes will be awarded.
